< Back Jehanee Lagunarajan Program Support & Marketing Assistant University of Waterloo Health Sciences Student Previous Jehanee (Pronounced: Juh - Ha - Nee) is our first-ever student! She volunteered as a community program coordinator before being hired as our program support and marketing assistant for her Co-op. She is in charge of all things marketing, including our social media, newsletter, website, and any other promotions we do. Her many experiences, including working as a program coordinator, coach, and health care assistant, have equipped her with a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with diverse abilities. She works to provide exceptional support and outreach to our program participants and the broader community. Next

Sarah's Place Day Program helps our members to hone their academic skills, explore creative pursuits, and foster social connections. Learn more about our program offerings and our facility. Education Education Programming at Sarah’s Place is based on a variety of topics chosen by our members. They include video lessons, worksheets, crafts & a variety of activities related to the topic they have chosen. Movement & Flow The Movement & Flow program in Sarah’s Place is designed to promote physical well-being and mental relaxation through a blend of exercises, dances, yoga sessions, and mindfulness practices. Movement & Flow reduces stress and enhances overall health. Life Skills Life Skills lessons are tailored to empower our members with essential abilities for daily living. Topics covered include financial literacy, time management, effective communication, problem-solving, and practical household management skills. Hot Lunch On Fridays, Sarah’s Place offers a hot homemade lunch. The menu is chosen by our members. They actively participate in grocery shopping and collaborate in meal preparation, empowering members in making decisions and honing their culinary skills. Field Trips Occasionally Sarah’s Place will host field trips, taking our members to different establishments in our community. Members get to experience new environments, learn about various industries, and engage with local organizations. Arts & Crafts Arts and crafts play a vital role in fostering creativity and self-expression among our members. These activities provide a wonderful outlet for individuals to explore their artistic talents, develop fine motor skills, and engage in meaningful hands-on projects. Our Program Sarah's Place offers a structured, educational, and inclusive day program. Our program is carefully crafted to the diverse needs of our members.
