  • How do we get started?
    Reach out to us to schedule a meeting. We will provide you with all the information needed to best support your child, including details about our services, eligibility, and pricing.
  • Is the day program right for my child?
    Determining if our day program is suitable for your child involves understanding their specific needs and goals. We encourage you to schedule a meeting with us so we can discuss your child's requirements in detail. Note: We do not accept members who exhibit aggressive behaviour. We can provide recommendations for alternative programs that may better suit their requirements.
  • What is the age requirement for the day program?
    We accept all members over the age of 18 years old. For individuals about to graduate from high school, we can discuss early admission to help them transition and become familiar with our programming. Please contact us for more information regarding early admission options.
  • How much does the day program cost?
    We have three different monthly membership options: Support needs is determined by the intensity of supports required by the member to participate in our program. This is subject to the level of care necessary for feeding, toileting, the individual's medical needs, and any other factors impacting their participation. Through careful assessment and ongoing observation, we tailor our support services to meet each member's unique needs, ensuring they can fully engage and benefit from our program. We encourage you to schedule a meeting with us so we can discuss your child's requirements in detail. Casual members are enrolled in our FlexAbility Membership program with daily fees ranging from $55-$75/day.
  • What activities are included in the day program?
    Our day program includes a combination of education, movement & flow, arts & crafts, life skills, cooking & baking, hot lunch, field trips, and fun activities & games. See more about our day program here.
  • Do you provide respite services?
    Sarah's Place is able to connect you with a worker who can provide respite services tailored to your needs. Please contact us for more details on how we can assist you.
  • Do you provide transportation services?
    Sarah's Place does not provide transportation services at the moment. We work with Durham Regional Transit (DRT) to provide direct services that are accessible to our members.
  • How do I volunteer at Sarah's Place?
    We would love to have you volunteer with us! We will require a resume and a valid vulnerability sector check. High school, College, and University students are also welcome to volunteer with us for their co-op placement. Please contact us for more information on how to get started.
  • Can I give a donation to Sarah's Place?
    Yes, we gratefully accept donations to support our programs and services. Your generosity helps us make a positive impact in the community. Please contact us to learn more about how you can contribute.
